Materials to craniology of sarmats

Craniological materials (10 skulls) from burial grounds Chernaya 2 and Kardailovo (Ileksky district of Orenburg oblast) dated IV–III centuries B. C., sarmatskaya archaeological culture are analyzed. The structure of skulls testifies to belonging the population of Orenburg oblast to europoid rece but mongoloid impurity is fixed. There are revealed two racial components: europoid which is genetically connected with sarmat tribes and europoid with mongoloid impurity. The last is analogous to a racial component among the population of gorokhovo and sargat cultures of West Siberia.

To problems of anthropology of the forest-steppe Altai population in the iron epoch (on materials of burials Maslyakha 1, 2)

Anthropological materials from burial grounds Maslyakha 1, 2 (Krutikhinsky district of Altai region) are analyzed. They are dated VII century B. C. and referred to the monuments of kamenskaya archaeological culture. 56 skeletons are investigated. Tribes of this period of time are characterized by brachymorphological type of proportions and average growth. Structure of skulls specifies a fitting of the population of forest-steppe Altai in the epoch of early iron to europoid race.
